*Primary Area of Research:*
The primary area of research is large free-text databases in support of medical care and research. He has specialized in designing and implementing secure networks and databases for medical care settings for over 35 years.
Prof. Massey holds Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees from the University of Florida. He has an extensive background in computer hardware and software design and development. He has been the principal or participating author on over 30 articles published over the last 30 years. He retired Emeritus in 2005 to take care of aging family members.
