She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Society for Hematopathology; the International Society for Stem Cell Research; the American Society of Hematology; American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Yang was the recipient of an NIH Postdoctoral Research Fellowship; an American Diabetes Association Research Career Development Award; and a NIH Clinical Scientist Mentored Research Award (K08). She has served as reviewer for many top journals, and several funding agencies including NIH, JDRF, and Multiple Myeloma Foundation. Dr. Yang has presented many invited talks at national/international scientific meetings
