Head and Neck Pathology
The division of Head and Neck Pathology at the University of Florida Diagnostic Reference Laboratories is committed to patient care. We work closely with highly skilled Otolaryngologists, Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons, Radiation Oncologists and Radiologists. These groups of physicians provide an experienced team specializing in the treatment and management of patients with Head and Neck cancer. This team approach is utilized at the weekly Head and Neck Tumor Conference. During this conference, multiple therapeutic interventions are discussed and individualized for each patient.
The division of Head and Neck Pathology provides accurate and timely diagnoses of diagnostic and therapeutic biopsies. Specimens include the oral cavity, oropharynx, mandible, maxilla, nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, nasopharynx, larynx, trachea, thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands and metastatic nodal disease.
Our division is supported by a highly qualified technical staff and laboratory. We have state of the art immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology laboratories for the study of Head and Neck cancers. Recent acquisitions include a rapid microwave enhanced tissue histoprocessor. This provides us with rapid and enhanced tissue processing six times faster then conventional tissue processors. This enables us to offer same day turn around of tissue samples.
Our division is privileged to provide you and your patients with the personal service and quality of care you have come to expect.
