Coagulation

The DRL performs a range of specialized assays that are aimed at diagnosing hereditary or acquired abnormalities in the coagulation system that may result in arterial or venous thromboses (thrombophilia) . These studies include immunoassays for the antiphospholipid syndrome and heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT). The laboratory also performs DNA analysis to detect if an individual patient has a genetic predisposition to venous thromboembolism.
