Professional Summary:
Dr. Anthony T. Yachnis received his MD degree from George
Washington University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed residency
and fellowship training in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology at
the University of Pennsylvania between 1986 and 1991. During the last
year of his training, Dr. Yachnis was an American Cancer Association
Clinical Research Fellow in Surgical Pathology. Between 1991 and 1993,

primitive neuroectodermal brain tumors.
Dr. Yachnis joined the Department of Pathology at the University of
Florida in 1993. He is certified in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology
by the American Board of Pathology. Current research efforts in the
Neuropathology laboratory are aimed at understanding the roles of cell
death regulatory molecules of the bcl-2 family in the pathogenesis brain
tumors and developmental abnormalities. Dr. Yachnis is the author of
over 100 publications including journal articles, book chapters and
