Clinical Virology
The Clinical Virology Laboratory Shands at the University of Florida is a cutting edge university hospital virology laboratory offering viral culture and identification, rapid testing for Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus, and specialized PCR testing for Herpes simplex Encephalitis (HSV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), BK virus and in the very near future, Epstein-Barr-Virus (EBV). Serologic diagnosis of EBV, HSV, CMV, Toxoplasma, Rubella, as well as autoimmune testing is also performed in this laboratory.
