Dermatopathology
The major goal of the Dermatopathology division is to provide superior quality and service to the patients in our community and proactively assist and support Dermatologists in the care of their patients. We are committed to actively contribute to the advancement of the field of Dermatopatholgy and medicine and to the dedicated education of tomorrow's Dermatologists, Pathologists and Dermatopathologists.
Dermatopathology activities include extensive teaching in the UF College of Medicine and College of Dentistry; The UF Dermatology and Pathology residents education, and our Dermatopathology fellowship program. We also have extensive continuing medical education for physicians.
We provide Dermatopathology service to UF physicians, Shands Hospital, and the VA of Gainesville. Through the UF-Diagnostic Reference Laboratory (DRL) we also provide services to dermatologists and other physicians in northern and central Florida.
Our divisions basic science and clinical research in dermatopathology is highlighted by 40 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals in the last 5 years
