Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine

Graduate Programs

The graduate faculty in our department are members of the Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Science (IDP), an interdepartmental graduate program leading to the degree of "Ph.D. in Medical Sciences".  The IDP consists of six interdepartmental advanced concentrations that cooperate in the recruiting, admission, and first-year training of graduate students, in preparation for specialized training by the individual advanced concentrations.  The six IDP advanced concentrations are:

  Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
  Genetics
  Immunology & Microbiology
  Molecular Cell Biology
  Neuroscience
  Physiology & Pharmacology

Please see the IDP website for detailed information about IDP admissions procedures, the first-year IDP curriculum and IDP advanced courses, and the research opportunities available with our faculty members.  To find IDP faculty members from our department and their research areas, use the IDP Faculty/Research webpage to search by "Search IDP Faculty" and select "Pathology, Immunology & Laboratory Medicine" as the Department, or go to the Pathology Faculty webpage.

Please note that the M.S. program in Clinical Chemistry has been discontinued.  The College of Medicine offers M.S. programs in medical science.
