As a NIH -funded Principal Investigator, Dr. Yang mainly focuses on exploration of adult stem cell plasticity of liver and bone marrow stem cells and programming of adult/stem cells into insulin-producing pancreatic beta cell surrogates by Gene Therapy and Protein Therapy strategies for cell replacement therapy for the goal of curing type I diabetes. She is also actively conducting research on the molecular mechanisms of ATRA-induced cell differentiation therapy in acute promyelocytic leukemia as well as collaboratively to develop tumor vaccine aimed at curing multiple myeloma. |
