Brief Biography:

Dr. Crawford is the Chair of the Pathology Department at the University of Florida College of Medicine.  Prior to joining the University of Florida in 1999, Dr. Crawford was faculty at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and the Yale University School of Medicine.  Dr. Crawford is Editor in Chief of Laboratory Investigation, President of the Association of Pathology Chairs, and Chair of the Pathology Working Group for the NCI Network for Translational Research in Optical Imaging.  Dr. Crawford is also Chair of the Board of Directors for PathPAC, the political action committee of the College of American Pathologists, and is a member of the College's Council for Government and Professional Affairs.  He is member of the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Academic Societies Administrative Board.  Dr. Crawford is a world expert in hepatic pathology and pathobiology, and is author of over 170 original articles and book chapters, and Senior Editor of 3 books.  He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Duke University, did his Pathology Residency and Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship at Brigham & Women's Hospital, and a Fellowship in Hepatopathology at the Royal Free Hospital in London. At the University of Florida College of Medicine, he is President of the Florida Clinical Practice Association and Chair of the Executive Fiscal Advisory Committee.
